The Next Great Show Beta Launch: From Seven Ideas to Open Community
S For Story/10664649
What started as seven TV series ideas on a WordPress site has evolved into The Next Great Show - a platform where creators can share their projects with the world. Today we're launching our beta and opening the doors to everyone.
TORONTO - s4story -- Today we're officially launching The Next Great Show in beta. But this platform didn't start as a grand vision to revolutionize the entertainment industry. It started with seven TV series ideas, a WordPress site, and a lot of rejection.
The Origin Story: Seven Ideas and Silence
It all began at original.thenextgreatshow.com - a simple WordPress site where I uploaded seven original TV series concepts. These weren't just random ideas; they were fully developed pitches with detailed loglines, character breakdowns, and season arcs. I was convinced that if the right person saw them, magic would happen.
So I started reaching out. Agents, producers, studio executives, development coordinators - anyone with a connection to the entertainment industry. I sent dozens of emails, made countless attempts to get someone, anyone, to take a look at what I'd created.
The response? Crickets. Almost complete silence.

The Lightbulb Moment
After months of trying to get industry gatekeepers to notice my work, I had a realization that changed everything:
If no one's going to see my ideas through traditional channels, why not let everyone see them?
That's when the concept for The Next Great Show was born. If I was struggling to get my creative work in front of the right people, surely other creators were facing the same challenge. What if there was a platform where anyone could share their TV and film ideas? What if we could create a community where great stories could find their audience organically?
From Personal Frustration to Community Solution
The Next Great Show is built on the belief that great ideas can come from anywhere and anyone should have the chance to share them. We're not trying to replace the traditional entertainment industry - we're trying to supplement it with a more open, accessible alternative.
Here's what we've built:
