New book, "Bicycling Historic Route 66," highlights couple's experience on a tandem
GREEN BAY, Wis. - s4story -- Be careful if Tracy and Peter Flucke invite you to join them on a bicycle ride as you might not be back for a while. This adventuresome couple is just as likely to pedal across the USA as they are to enjoy a leisurely outing from their home in northeastern Wisconsin.
This time, the Fluckes invite you to join them on their epic 2016 ride along historic Route 66 in their new book, Bicycling Historic Route 66: Our Adventure Crossing the USA on a Bicycle Built for Two (M&B Global Solutions Inc.).
"Tracy and Peter Flucke are an inspiration to those who enjoy biking for recreation, transportation, and just the pure joy of it," comments Bill Nesper, Executive Director of the League of American Bicyclists. "Their riding shows people what is possible. They experience communities on a human scale, which is one of the most beautiful things about biking."

Popularly referred to as the "Mother Road," Route 66 was billed as the best route from Chicago through St. Louis to Los Angeles when it was established in 1926. The Fluckes take turns sharing their perspectives of the challenges they faced in the form of heat, wind, and scarcity of services, spiced by the inevitable adventures and characters that accompany life on a bicycle.
Bicycling Historic Route 66: Our Adventure Crossing the USA on a Bicycle Built for Two is available now in paperback and digital versions on Amazon at https://amzn.to/45wy7Vs or on the Fluckes' website at https://www.webike.org/shop-new/.
The Fluckes previously chronicled their 2014 trip across the Northern Tier in their debut book, Coast to Coast on a Tandem, also available on Amazon in paperback and digital versions at http://amzn.to/2y3dYqL. These two books cover two of their three cross-country bicycle trips, with the third trip covering the length of Mississippi River in 2015.
Tracy and Peter Flucke lead an active lifestyle as enthusiastic supporters of bicycles and pedestrian safety through their company, WE BIKE, etc. LLC.
