Transition Kitchen Launches Tuition-Free Culinary Program in Las Vegas

Non-profit culinary foundation secures city-funded partnership to launch a paid "earn-while-you-learn" apprenticeship program in Las Vegas's Historic Westside.
LAS VEGAS - s4story -- The Transition Kitchen Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering underrepresented youth through culinary education, has officially secured a partnership with the City of Las Vegas to launch a tuition-free, "earn-while-you-learn" apprenticeship program in the Historic Westside.
Unlike traditional culinary institutions that require heavy tuition and generate long-term student debt, the Transition Kitchen Foundation removes financial barriers by offering paid, hands-on workforce training. Under the direction of Vice President Brandon Clark and Founder Robert Stewart (Chef Stew), students earn a steady wage while training directly in commercial kitchen operations and mobile culinary concepts like Stews Stix.
"Traditional culinary education often leaves promising talent behind due to financial strain," said Brandon Clark, Vice President of Transition Kitchen Foundation. "Our model flips that script. By paying our apprentices while they learn, we are creating direct, sustainable career pathways for local youth, keeping talent in the community, and driving economic growth from the inside out."

The foundation's permanent facility in the Historic Westside will serve as a workforce engine, community dining hub, and training facility, equipping students with essential culinary skills, job placement support, and entrepreneurial mentorship. The formal grand opening for the facility is scheduled for August 2026.
