Uptown, Minneapolis Church Partners With Local Artists On Project For Justice, Healing and Peace

MINNEAPOLIS - s4story -- MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Grace Trinity Community Church is pleased to announce the opening of an extraordinary art exhibit, "The Technicolor Truth." This unique exhibition features artists in an exploratory mode, deconstructing and reconstructing societal narratives through their art. These artists are the truth-tellers of our world, their works shattering silence and filling spaces with profound beauty.
This art exhibition will open on Saturday, September 16th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.. Tickets are available on Eventbrite. The gallery will be open on Fridays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, starting September 22nd and running through November 10th. The exhibition will conclude with a gallery closing on Saturday, November 18th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, featuring an artist talk at 6:00 PM.
We are thrilled to announce a remarkable lineup of distinguished artists: Angela Davis, Andre Hollingsworth, Antione Hightower, Beverly Hammond, Chris Deanes, Christopher Harrison, Dio, Drew Hammond, Flahn Manly Prince, Jodi Reeb, Joe Davis, Karen Caldwell, Laura Marie, Lux Thunberg (AFTI), Mary Solberg, Miko Simmons, Mike Klein, Nikki McComb, Richard Marchan, Ron Brown, seangarrison, and Shea Maze. Additionally, the event will feature a live poetry reading by Joe Davis, creating a captivating blend of visual and literary artistry

Grace Trinity Community Church, a progressive Presbyterian and American Baptist congregation in the Uptown neighborhood, is honored to host this event. "Our faith propels us to be advocates for justice, healing, and peace for our community and the city of Minneapolis," Rev. Zac Calvo, the Bridge Pastor at Grace Trinity,expressed. "In the wake of the tragic murder of George Floyd, the rising gun violence epidemic, and our collective reckoning with past and present racism, we strive to foster pivotal conversations and healing relationships."
Rev. Calvo added, "Art has the power to beckon, challenge, and stimulate us to transcend boundaries and view the world through a fresh lens. We are thrilled to host 'The Technicolor Truth' in our Uptown space, engage with these artists' work, and inspire our community to feel deeply and act decisively."
