FAIRFIELD BAY, Ark. - s4story -- Vernaculator Turns Kids' Memes Into Real Books, Making Young Students Published Authors

The Vernaculator animated talking meme generator from ShareWeaver LLC teaches big words and true guiding principles, then uses those memes to create and publish a kids' book on Amazon. Arkansas classrooms start a pilot next week.

A daily good-news story. Each school gets its own Town Square. The teacher posts one positive story a day, local when there is one and national when there isn't, and every student answers it with a talking meme. Nothing appears until the teacher approves it.

A daily journal entry. The child gets to create a talking, animated meme a day and upload it to their personal account. They can also use it on their personal social media account.

Canvas sign-in for teachers. Vernaculator connects to the Canvas learning management system (LTI 1.3). A school's Canvas admin adds it once, and it shows up in the course menu. Teachers open the teacher tools and students open the student view, with no new accounts. Canvas sends Vernaculator no names, emails, or photos.

Words at every level. Teachers set a grade from kindergarten through college, or paste their own vocabulary list, and every character uses those words.

Every character is built around one of 14 true guiding principles and values, including integrity, courage, empathy, gratitude, responsibility, perseverance, and adaptability. Each character has a positive side and a reason for the way it talks. The goal is a classroom where kids laugh with each other, not at each other. Everything on Vernaculator is PG. There's no swearing, no ads, and nothing students post goes public until a grown-up approves it.
