S For Story/10694489
Free event brings together aspiring engineers and rocket scientists from across the state
KIRKLAND, Wash. - s4story -- The Lake Washington Student Rocketry Summit (LWSRS) announces its virtual summit bringing together high school students from across Washington state for a day of rocketry education, engineering challenges, and inspiration from industry
professionals.
WHAT:
The Lake Washington Student Rocketry Summit (LWSRS) — a free, virtual event designed to
ignite passion for aerospace engineering, rocketry, and STEM among high school students
across Washington state.
WHEN:
6/13/2026 9AM PDT
WHERE:
Virtual (online) — accessible to all WA state high school students
Registration and details: lwsrs.com
WHY THIS MATTERS:

operations) yet many high school students lack access to hands-on rocketry and
aerospace education
More on S For Story
● The summit bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world aerospace
engineering
● Student-organized and student-led, demonstrating youth initiative in STEM
● Free and virtual format removes barriers to access for students across the state,
including rural communities
HIGHLIGHTS:
● Keynotes: Dr. Matthew Greenhouse from NASA and Richard Mckee from FutureForward
● Poster Competition with a prize for the winner
● Dr. Greenhouse will be talking about the Hubble Telescope and Mr. Mckee will be talking
about career oppurtunities in aerospace
QUOTES:
"We started LWSRS because we wanted to give students a place to explore aerospace beyond
the classroom. Whether someone is already interested in rocketry or just curious about space,
this summit is meant to help them learn from speakers, connect with new ideas, and see that
aerospace is something students can be part of right now." says Nakul Choudhary, the president
of the club.

"Student-led STEM programs like LWSRS give young people the opportunity to move from
simply learning about science to actively building a community around it. By organizing
speakers, sessions, and hands-on learning opportunities, students develop the leadership and
technical confidence needed to pursue future work in aerospace and engineering." says
Maxwell Elliot, the club advisor.

fostering the next generation of aerospace engineers and rocket scientists in Washington state.
