Waterside Announces New Book "Shadow Siblings"
S For Story/10473820
Children's Book SHADOW SIBLINGS Sheds Spotlight on Kids Who Have Brothers or Sisters with Challenges, Circumstances or Health Conditions That Make Them Different
CARDIFF BY THE SEA, Calif. - s4story -- "Some kids are born to stand out. Others shine brightest in their shadows."
– Claire Reyhle, 12 years old
Mother and daughter duo Nicole Leinbach and Claire Reyhle are thrilled to bring their passion project to life in their debut book, Shadow Siblings.
Leinbach, a published business Author, Founder of RetailMinded.com and recognized thought leader within the retail industry, was inspired to write this book with her daughter after observing Claire be in the "shadow" of her son, Jackson, who lost all his hair at 3 years old due to a rare autoimmune disease. The years that followed introduced their family to many new circumstances, but among them included observing the role Claire had as a sibling to someone with a unique medical circumstance. Rather than view this as a challenge, however, Nicole views it as an opportunity – ultimately helping her daughter realize that being a shadow sibling is a "superpower."
More on S For Story
The book Shadow Siblings is about a young girl realizing that despite having a brother with a unique medical situation, she is grateful to be in a position that supports her brother. The main character in the book discovers that many families consist of having kids with special needs, challenges, or circumstances that make them different, and various children are introduced within this story who also have siblings who experience their own unique challenges. As part of the research for this book, Claire personally interviewed other shadow siblings, helping to bring clarity to the countless situations in which shadow siblings exist.
This is a story of hope, love, and acceptance ideal for all ages while bringing the spotlight to kids who we affectionately refer to as Shadow Siblings. Authors Nicole Leinbach and Claire Reyhle are available for interviews in studio or virtually, as well as other shadow siblings and/or Claire's brother, Jackson, can join.
Shadow Siblings will debut April 15, 2021. Additional inventory supporting the book, including children's capes, bracelets, an activity and coloring book, and more, are also available at www.ShadowSiblings.com.
