Waterside Productions Announces Wayne Raffesberger's New Book "Thank God I Got Polio"
S For Story/10509875
CARDIFF BY THE SEA, Calif. - s4story -- San Diego writer Wayne Raffesberger has released his first book, Thank God I Got Polio: A Life of Adventure and the Adventure of Life, a powerfully inspirational memoir. It begins with a very compelling account of a young boy suddenly collapsing from polio. He spends months in a polio ward, and despite being told by doctors that he may never walk again, makes a conscious decision to live a life of adventure.
That life of adventure took him around the world, from New Zealand fjords to Himalayan treks to Amazon jungles. Adventures like rafting whitewater, scuba diving with sharks, parachuting, and climbing mountains like the Matterhorn, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and Mt. Rainier. Adventures that many others would never have even attempted.
His adventures were not only physical, though. They were also emotional, romantic, and ultimately, spiritual. The book has many highs and many lows. "It will break your heart, and then put it back together again," says Raffesberger.

Reflecting back on the journey of his life led him to a spiritual awakening. Back to faith, after a lifetime of denial. Dealing with repressed emotion while writing the book was very difficult, but Raffesberger says that, "If one sick child or person struggling with insurmountable challenges is inspired, it's all been worth it."
About the Author:
Wayne Raffesberger is a freelance writer, voiceover talent, and raconteur. He is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of San Diego law school. He previously worked as a university lecturer, lawyer, political aide, and small businessman. He lives in San Diego, California, with his wife, Kaye, and his polydactyl (six-toed) cat, Ernie, named after Ernest Hemingway's six-toed cats.
