What does the Light at the End of the Tunnel Mean?
S For Story/10565104
ST. GEORGE, Utah - s4story -- Linda Weaver Clarke is the author of the historical romance The Light at the End of the Tunnel. When asked about this novella, she said, "Everyone has challenges in their lives. Many wonder if they are the only ones who are experiencing difficulties. Some people feel that each trial they have endured was so challenging and wondered where the light at the end of the tunnel was. But they are not alone. Others have walked the same path and these trials have made them stronger in many ways."
Author Linda Weaver Clarke wrote a historical romance based on this subject, using the inspiration of her great grandmother Hannah who came to America in the mid-1800s. On the ship from England, Hannah's one-year-old daughter became very ill, which resulted in deafness. Two years later, her husband was murdered on the streets of St. Louis, Missouri. Having never worked outside her home before, Hannah took a job as a maid at a hotel in St. Louis, hoping to earn enough money to move on. She was a courageous woman and did not give up.
In the novella, The Light at the End of the Tunnel, Hannah is a young single mother who has had some hardships since arriving in America, along with raising her little girl who is deaf. But her trials only make her stronger. Wanting to be independent, she opens a hot chocolate shop. At first, it's a struggle. But she will not give up.

Book Reviewer and Author Gail Pallotta wrote: "This romance wrapped around my heart as it took me into the struggles of Hannah, such a brave woman. The characters come to life on the page as Thomas falls for Hannah. However, Hannah is caught up in her day-to-day trials, and with her independent streak she only thinks of making a life for her and her daughter. Can Thomas get her attention and change her mind?"
BreAnne Okoren narrated this historical romance for Audible audiobooks and it has received wonderful reviews. Author Linda Weaver Clarke wrote, "I am so amazed with BreAnne's talent because she makes the characters feel real. She speaks with a Scottish and English accent without effort. When there was a humorous incident, the laughter in her voice makes the scene come alive. The emotion BreAnne gives to each character is genuine and you can feel how the character feels. I couldn't have chosen a better narrator who understands my characters."
