WMPG Announces New Mobile App, "WMPG Community Radio"
S For Story/10500330
PORTLAND, Maine - s4story -- PORTLAND, ME – WMPG Radio (which broadcasts from the University of Southern Maine) today launched a new app for mobile users to make streaming radio more accessible. The WMPG Community Radio app offers mobile users access to the station's 24/7 on air live stream, podcasts, programming schedule and to archived programs.
"We are very excited to launch this new mobile app! The WMPG app is an excellent and easy-to-access platform for our listeners to check out our program archives, listen to podcasts, and, of course, to stream our on-air broadcast", said Jim Rand, WMPG station manager. "The app features direct links to the current music playlists, DJ information, and an area where listeners can donate to WMPG. We have listeners who stream our music not only in Maine, but all over the US as well as globally and our new app makes it easier to listen on the go".
Sydney Morton, a University of Southern Maine student, who is a volunteer DJ at the station says 'the app is a great way for our listeners to engage with our programs and show support for our community radio station. WMPG relies on our listeners and community, so in a way, this is a big step towards making our radio station more accessible for listeners. WMPG programs, archived shows and our podcasts are available with the device you use every day: your phone! It's pretty sweet".
