"A World in Crisis" - A Grim Future Awaits in This Novel About Ecological Survival
S For Story/10416293
SYDNEY - s4story -- Forty years from now Earth is in deep trouble. The entire planet has been plunged into chaos following 150 years of environmental degradation.
In the year 2060, one man surviving in a hidden cave in the Blue Mountains of Australia isolates himself from the terrors of rising oceans and the chaos of humanity in its death throes. His aim is to record what brought the world to its sorry state.
He writes of the uncontrollable pollution and population growth that destroyed the planet's water and air, and the atomic bomb tests that caused unsustainable pressures to the earth's mantle.
Rising sea levels now cover over one fifth the world's land mass, flooding oceanside cities, and pressuring the land mass, causing earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes that kill millions. Survivors will do anything to escape the violent gangs roaming the remaining population centers.
It is in this gloomy outlook for mankind's future that the first seeds of hope appear.
