3-day Novel Published On New Kindle Vella Platform

Author B Shawn Clark's take on a 1970s version of "American Graffiti" and "Breakfast Club" now appearing on Amazon's new episodic publishing platform
ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - s4story -- BRICKS, a novella written by B Shawn Clark during the 2020 3-Day Novel-Writing Contest is now making its debut on Amazon's new Kindle Vella serialized story product. Taking a Que from similar successful platforms such as Radish, WebNovel and Wattpad, Amazon's Kindle Direct launched Vella earlier this summer and has already stocked hundreds of titles, including the offering by Clark, who had the novella published on Vella during this year's 2021 Labor Day weekend, to coincide with the first anniversary of the 3-days he spent writing BRICKS in 2020.
"I thought it only fitting - not to mention motivational - to have BRICKS come out at the same time I was slaving away on yet another masterwork during this year's 3DNW contest," said Clark, who this past Labor Day weekend live-streamed from Manasota Beach Club while he worked feverishly on his next book, which might also appear on Vella someday.

"That's up to the publishing gods," Clark quipped.
Clark likens the story BRICKS tells to similar coming-of-age stories, saying perhaps it may be regarded some day as yet another in a long tradition of stories about teenage angst, this one set in the seaside town of Largo, Florida, in the 1970s, sandwiched in an era midway between American Graffiti and The Breakfast Club, with a side of Love Story to make things more dramatic.
"Honestly speaking, I had to wonder if stories such as these from the 70s translate very well in the modern era," said Clark. "Things sure do change but, then again, others, it may turn out, remain pretty much the same."
