Adorable Animals, Valuable Lessons in "Blue to the Rescue"
S For Story/10500358
WYNNE, Ark. - s4story -- Amy Poindexter's debut children's book, Blue to the Rescue (TouchPoint Press, September 14, 2021), the first title in her A Touch of Kindness Series, teaches young readers a valuable lesson about learning from your mistakes.
With adorable illustrations and a lovable hero in Poindexter the bear, Blue to the Rescue will captivate children's hearts and imaginations as they learn about compassion and responsibility. The book includes a "Thoughts for Discussion" page at the end to help facilitate discussion about key details and lessons learned. Amy hopes her book will help children "learn the importance of social and emotional responsibility and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to manage emotions and achieve collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions."

"Like me, Amy has a desire to help instill lasting values in young minds through stories that entertain versus preach," says publisher Sheri Williams. "Her compassion and heart shine through the stories she writes, and we are proud she is a part of our publishing family."
In addition to the publication of her book, Amy is excited to announce the availability of a plush Poindexter teddy bear, Poindexter flashlight, and nap sack, all of which can be purchased through TouchPoint Press.
About the Book
Blue to the Rescue is a story about three friends who go on an adventurous hike together. Along the way, Betty Lou, the rabbit, notices a sign on the trail path that alarms her, so she insists that they not separate. Because Gilbert, the squirrel, sees something that terrifies him, he runs ahead and becomes lost and afraid. A new friendship develops from something blue that comes to Gilbert's rescue, and in return, teaches Gilbert a valuable lesson about making poor choices.
