Peter describes this event at Christ's second coming: "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up" (2 Peter 3:10).

Paul made the intriguing statement: "For the form of this world is passing away" (1 Cor. 7:31). Yet, somehow this transformation from the present form into a new "dimension" is not the end of the world; but instead, will produce a glorious age on earth in which "the wolf and the lamb shall feed together" (Isa. 65:25).
