Only Arizona Nonprofit Organization in the Running for Pivotal Grant
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - s4story -- STARS (Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services) has been named the only nonprofit finalist from Arizona for the prestigious Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Award™, having already secured an initial grant and now competing for a transformational amount of additional funding. Voting is open now through the Chick-fil-A App, giving the Arizona community a powerful opportunity to make a life-changing impact in the disability community.
The Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards™ honor nonprofit organizations across the U.S. making extraordinary contributions to their communities. Out of 56 finalists, STARS is the sole representative from Arizona, spotlighting the organization's dedication to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

"This honor shines a spotlight on the strength, resilience, and potential of Arizona's disability community—and the vital role STARS plays in supporting it," said Claudia Chavez, Executive Director of STARS. "Just being considered by Chick-fil-A for this award affirms that STARS is creating lasting impact and expanding opportunities for individuals with disabilities across our state, and we couldn't be prouder of the work our participants do."
Winning the top regional award would bring transformational funding to STARS, enabling the organization to expand its day programs, community-based employment training, recreational services, and young adult transition programs—directly impacting hundreds of individuals and families across Arizona.

Community members are also invited to celebrate at the True Inspiration Celebration hosted by Chick-fil-A Raintree in Scottsdale on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 4–8 PM. Attendees who vote during the event will receive complimentary food items courtesy of Chick-fil-A Raintree.
