s4story -- Carbon AMS is building what is likely the world's first fully AI-controlled industrial facility—an intelligent plant engineered from the ground up to operate with edge-native, closed-loop AI optimizations and agentic control. 1) A full feedback loop from real-world process data to probabilistic, predictive control for plant-wide performance optimizations, 2) Virtual sensors to extract data at high resolutions and achieve inferences that traditional sensors cannot, and 3) Edge-deployed agents capable of updating control set points while performing constant analysis on equipment for preventative maintenance, uptime maximization, and adjustments for weather.

This technology goes beyond digital twins. It is the basis for a digital organism—alive to data, tuned to biology, thermodynamics, and industrial control—built to continually improve the function of the facility until it reaches theoretical maximum performance and can then inform future designs.
