Silenced, Flow, and First Light — Three International Exhibitions Extend Eroded Origins: Speak For Me !, a Climate Art and Advocacy Project
VANCOUVER, British Columbia - s4story -- Garrett Andrew Chong, a Vancouver, British Columbia-based climate artist whose practice bridges ecological advocacy, community engagement, and light-based climate art, announces three concurrent exhibitions of his ongoing climate art project Eroded Origins: Speak For Me ! — a new international publication, an online exhibition, and a Vancouver, BC gallery showing — each extending the project's mission of moving audiences from passive viewing into active climate advocacy.
SILENCED — Collect Artwork (Tbilisi, Georgia)
Select works from Eroded Origins: Speak For Me ! have been chosen for Silenced, a book, an artist interview and online exhibition published by Collect Artwork in Tbilisi, Georgia. The selection includes six lens-based works on wood — Listen, I am, Kindness, Peace, Stars, and Gratitude — alongside select projections. Chong points to a line from François de La Rochefoucauld as inspiration for the work's purpose: "Hope is the last thing that dies in man."

FLOW — Collect Artwork (Tbilisi, Georgia)
Select works from The Flow, a multi-part series within Eroded Origins, are featured in FLOW, a new artist interview and online exhibition with Collect Artwork. Lens-based on metal, the series depicts the toll of wildfires and heat domes on old-growth forests, placing an inferno directly above a living landscape, separated only by a veil of white mist. "The white mist is at once a buffer, a breath, and a warning," Chong explains, "a unified field of human consciousness standing between devastation and what remains alive." The series exists in multiple registers: a 45-foot, fully immersive projection built from industrial sound, a series of still images inviting quieter, more concentrated attention, and 2D artworks with art patrons' voices on wood.
FIRST LIGHT — CICA Vancouver, BC (Canada)
Three works from Speak For Me ! — Peace, Kindness, and Gratitude (lens-based on wood) — are presented at First Light Exhibition and Auction, running August 15 - October 10, 2026. "Chong's lens-based work begins with the question of how images can move us from looking to advocacy," said Viahsta Yuan, Curator. "Through a climate art practice grounded in ecological awareness, community engagement, and reciprocity, Chong asks us to consider our place within living systems. In Gratitude, light becomes both image and invitation: to notice what is at risk, to listen to local ecosystems, and to imagine a different relationship with Gaia."
