Award-Winning Author Dave Rector Releases Forgive Us Our Sins, a Haunting Tale of Colonial America

Just in time for Halloween, this new supernatural short story explores mystery, guilt, and the lingering shadows of the past
EMERSON, N.J. - s4story -- Award-winning author Dave Rector announces the release of Forgive Us Our Sins: A Haunting Tale of Colonial America, a supernatural short story set against the stark, unforgiving landscape of colonial America.
At the center of the story is Darius, a hard-drinking former craftsman hired to clear the ruins of an abandoned house to make way for a fine new home. The job seems straightforward—until the autumn winds begin to howl and Darius discovers that something may still inhabit the property.
What happened at the original home site? Who—or what—refuses to leave? And why do the spirit's demands suggest a deeper meaning than the fate of the ruined house itself?
Blending historical atmosphere, supernatural mystery, and psychological tension, Forgive Us Our Sins explores the enduring power of guilt and the consequences of the past. As Darius confronts the unexplained events surrounding the property, the story raises questions about the burdens people carry, the wrongs that haunt them, and the possibility of redemption.
