Bail America owner Doug Moore says helping the Polk County community goes beyond bail bonds
LAKELAND, Fla. - s4story -- Bail America Bail Bonds is showing Polk County what community support looks like. Ahead of National Dog Day on Wednesday, August 26th, company owner Doug Moore donated bags of dog food and treats to a local rescue shelter that helps dogs in need across the county.
National Dog Day was started in 2004 to celebrate the bond between people and their dogs. The day also works to shine a light on the dogs still waiting for homes, including many who face harder odds simply because of their breed. It is a chance for communities to step up and help shelters that care for these dogs every day.
Bail America has helped families throughout Lakeland and the rest of Polk County for years. The company is known for trusted, reliable bail bonds service when families need it most. But for Moore, being part of the community means more than just answering the phone when someone needs help.
"At Bail America we are dog people," Moore said. "And just like people out on bond deserve a second chance, so do these dogs."

The donation included several large bags of dog food along with boxes of treats, all delivered to the Polk County Bully Project, a nonprofit shelter that finds homes for rescue dogs in the area.
Moore said giving back to Polk County is something he takes seriously, whether that means supporting local nonprofits, sponsoring community events, or simply being available for Lakeland families around the clock.
"We work in Lakeland and Polk County every single day," Moore said. "Supporting the people and causes here is part of who we are."
