DALLAS - s4story -- Black Diamond Sports & Entertainment Group, LLC announces the launch of The Mind Lab, an athlete development initiative focused on mental resilience, leadership and well-being. Designed by Dr. Brandy Runyan, who holds a PhD in Sports Leadership and conducts research on mental resilience and the mental health of elite athletes, The Mind Lab brings academic insight and professional athlete management experience into programming for the demands of competitive sport. The initiative addresses challenges that extend beyond physical preparation: maintaining confidence under pressure, managing stress, responding to setbacks and navigating changes in an athletic career. Its approach connects mental performance with the broader responsibilities and experiences that shape an athlete's development. The Mind Lab serves youth, collegiate and professional athletes, as well as athletes transitioning out of sport. Programming focuses on confidence, concentration, emotional control, adaptability and leadership, with attention to injury recovery, career uncertainty and identity beyond competition. Individual and group mental resilience programming, virtual learning opportunities and team workshops provide formats for athletes and organizations seeking practical support. Dr. Runyan's research interests inform the initiative's emphasis on understanding the person behind the performance. Her background in Sports Leadership and work with elite athletes bring a perspective that considers competitive expectations alongside personal development, decision-making and long-term well-being. For coaches and sports organizations, The Mind Lab offers an opportunity to incorporate mental resilience education and leadership development into athlete support. For individual athletes, the initiative creates space to examine how they respond to pressure, handle uncertainty and prepare for the next stage of their lives and careers. The Mind Lab is part of Black Diamond's broader commitment to athlete development. Services are available in the Dallas–Fort Worth and Tyler areas, with select programming offered virtually.
