Award-Winning Author Releases Christmas Book for Families In Time For Christmas
LONDON, Ontario - s4story -- Award-winning writer and producer Andrew Kooman announces the release of Gather for Advent, a new resource containing poems and stories to spark wonder this Christmas. The book is designed to be a resource for families, created to help unpack the wonder, mystery, and surprise of Advent.
Gather for Advent features select poems and stories that are reflections on the meaning of Christmas, written by Kooman over the years. The author's hope for the book is to nurture a sense of wonder in hearts and in homes.
"As a child, growing up in a home of four energetic boys who'd fight over who got to light the Advent candle and who got to snuff it out, there was always noise, competition, and negotiation when we did the Advent wreath," notes Kooman. "Despite the ruckus, the practice of sitting together to read and reflect on what it meant that Jesus came into the world, left a deep impact on my young heart."

The stories and readings are crafted to bring Christmas alive in new and meaningful ways by incorporating humor, surprise, and unexpected questions posed by characters from well-known Bible stories, and modern characters caught up in the busyness of life and the Christmas season.
"My hope," Kooman says, "is that as people gather to light candles in the dark with loved ones this Advent, that they will reflect anew on the meaning of Christmas."
The book is structured around the key themes of Advent: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. The content is flexible and meant to serve families "in the midst of real life". Readers can utilize the book however they want, whether following a "grab and go" approach or using one of the detailed reading guides.
Gather for Advent includes four suggested reading plans:
