Bullring passes 100,000 Instagram followers following social growth strategy
S For Story/10682552
WEST MIDLANDS, U.K. - s4story -- Bullring has passed 100,000 Instagram followers, exceeding its annual social growth target following a year-long content and community strategy delivered by Birmingham-based agency Explode Social Media.
The retail and leisure destination had initially set a target of 85,000 followers by the end of 2025, a milestone reached by October. Continued audience growth through the final quarter saw the account pass six figures by December, reflecting sustained engagement rather than short-term spikes.
The growth followed the introduction of a series-led content strategy designed for social platforms, with recurring formats including The Dancing Security Guards and What's in the Box. The approach prioritised repeat viewing, entertainment and local relevance, supporting Bullring's presence across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
Explode Social Media worked alongside Bullring's in-house marketing team to develop a content framework that balanced retail promotion with cultural moments and community-led storytelling. The strategy was designed to strengthen engagement with local shoppers while supporting Bullring's positioning as both a retail destination and a social meeting place.

Lindi Mngaza, Managing Director and Founder of Explode Social Media, said:
"Shopping centres are operating in a very different landscape. Social platforms are now a key touchpoint for maintaining relevance, driving engagement and reinforcing brand affinity. This result shows what can be achieved when content strategy is aligned with clear commercial objectives."
Danielle Bozward, Marketing and Placemaking Manager at Bullring & Grand Central, added:
"Explode took the time to understand Bullring as a place, not just a brand. The strategy has helped us build a social presence that reflects the energy of the centre and the community around it, while creating a strong foundation for continued growth."
The milestone comes as shopping centres and mixed-use destinations increasingly use social platforms to support awareness, footfall and brand perception, with Bullring's performance demonstrating how a structured content strategy can deliver measurable audience growth over time.
