Business & Media Executive Vikki Jones Examines Hidden Cost in New Book The Audacity of Entitlement
S For Story/10701444
New leadership and personal-development book challenges readers to restore humanity, reciprocity and ethical exchange in business and life
NEW YORK - s4story -- Author, entrepreneur and global media executive Vikki Jones announces the release of The Audacity of Entitlement: Restoring Humanity in Business and Life, a timely examination of what happens when growing expectations are no longer matched by greater investment, support, appreciation or consideration.
Published by VMH Publishing, the book explores a pattern that appears across businesses, organizations, professional relationships and everyday life: one person continues requesting more while another person quietly carries the additional cost.
Jones argues that entitlement begins when people become so focused on what they want that they stop seeing the human being expected to provide it.
"Entitlement is not always loud, deliberate or immediately recognizable," said Jones. "Sometimes it appears as one additional request that seems reasonable on its own. The problem becomes visible when the requests continue to grow, but the investment, recognition and reciprocity remain exactly where they began."

Drawing upon her experience across publishing, media, sports, business leadership, entrepreneurship, professional services and corporate partnerships, Jones examines how appreciation can quietly become expectation and how collaboration can shift into extraction without either party naming what has changed.
The book is not an argument against ambition, growth, generosity or collaboration. Instead, it asks individuals and organizations to pursue those goals without overlooking the people whose labor, expertise, judgment and support make progress possible.
"The goal is not to teach people to become less generous," Jones said. "It is to help us become more mindful of what our requests require from another human being. When we want more, we must be willing to see more, respect more, contribute more and invest more."
The Audacity of Entitlement is written for entrepreneurs, executives, consultants, employees, creators, business owners, organizational leaders and anyone who has ever felt valued for what they could provide while feeling overlooked as a person.
