S For Story/10400924
Drug rehabs Los Angeles and San Diego in California are adding services due to patient brokering laws.
LOS ANGELES - s4story -- California drug rehabs are providing more services due to new patient brokering laws. Some rehabilitation facilities are closing their doors because of the new governmental regulations. The drug and alcohol addiction treatment industry previously had no regulation prior to 2019.
Evolution of California Drug Rehab Laws
The new laws that were adopted in California started in 2018 from Florida legislatures. Many lawmen saw that individuals seeking treatment were being sold by patient brokers. The Sunshine state is one of the most popular destinations for substance abuse treatment.
California drug rehabs have adopted these, and they are now in place. This is causing some facilities to close their doors. Some of these centers were ethical players, while others were clearly patient brokering. The new laws state that you cannot use any incentive to attend the addiction treatment program.
