Caretech Brings Heartfelt Advocacy and Family Legacy of Service to Lincoln
S For Story/10684644
LINCOLN, Neb. - s4story -- Caretech, a leading mission-based home care provider, is officially expanding its services into the Lincoln market. While the move represents a significant step in the organization's goal to be a Midwest leader in non-medical care, for Chief Operating Officer Kerin Zuger, the expansion is deeply personal.
"At Caretech, we say we care for your family like our very own, and I mean that literally," says Zuger. "My 80-year-old mother, a retired nurse, is a caregiver on our team. She currently cares for a 14-year-old named Mary* who has autism. Her mother recently lost her husband, and my mom is in there being a 'grandma' to her — sitting at the table and giving that family the support they need to stay together at home. That is the heartbeat of what we do."
Caretech arrives in Lincoln at a pivotal moment. The organization is a vocal advocate for families navigating the Nebraska Aged and Disabled (AD) Waiver. Following a wave of public input, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) recently retracted several proposed cuts, including a 40-hour weekly cap for live-in caregivers.

"The retraction of those cuts is encouraging news," Zuger noted. "It shows that when families speak up, the state listens. But the challenge of balancing fiscal health with the safety of our neighbors remains. We are moving into Lincoln to be a partner in that balance."
Caretech specializes in assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) for individuals of all ages. Their "high-tech, high-touch" model uses background AI to handle operational heavy lifting, ensuring caregivers can focus entirely on the "kitchen table" connections that define quality care.
As a new member of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Caretech looks forward to serving the community and participating in the upcoming public comment period (Feb. 2 – March 4) to ensure safe and healthy care alternatives remain available to all.
About Caretech: Caretech is a privately owned home care organization founded in 1999. Serving nearly 300 clients across four states, Caretech empowers independence through person-centered planning and heartfelt service. Learn more at www.caretechinc.com.
