Casimir Rutkowski Art Reception Slattery Gallery
S For Story/10704696
Paintings from the East End next Reception is set for October 12th
SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. - s4story -- Join Stas Rutkowski, family and friends for an Art Reception this Monday, October 12, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Slattery Gallery presents "Casimir Rutkowski and His Circle: Paintings from the East End," an exhibition featuring more than 20 works by the late East End painter Casimir Rutkowski, alongside works by artists who helped shape the region's artistic community in the 20th century.
The reception is free and open to the public at the Slattery Gallery Southampton Village location, 30a Jobs Lane.
The evening offers art enthusiasts, members of the press, collectors, and friends a final opportunity to review the collection, with newly updated walls featuring fresh works made available following recent acquisitions.
The exhibition, which has been on view since September 3, enters its final week before closing on October 19, 2026. Many of these oil, plein air works have not been exhibited publicly in more than two decades, capturing a "lost, more innocent perspective" of iconic South Fork landscapes like Bridgehampton and Sagaponack before modern development transformed the region's open farm fields.

To anchor his legacy within the mid-to-late 20th-century Hamptons art movement, Rutkowski's pieces are exhibited alongside works by prominent peers including Priscilla Bowden, Nikolai Cikovsky, Robert Dash, Cornelia Foss, Jane Freilicher, Balcomb Greene, Paton Miller, Fairfield Porter, and Ty Stroudsburg. Stas Rutkowski expressed his deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community, inviting friends, collectors, and fellow artists to celebrate his father's life, works and lasting legacy. Attendees at the reception will enjoy fine art, wine, and charcuterie.
About Casimir Rutkowski (1941–2005):
An accomplished East End landscape artist, Rutkowski studied at the Art Students League of New York before moving to the Hamptons in the 1970s.
