Chicago Travel Advisor Helps Midwest Families Plan Europe Trips That Actually Work
S For Story/10688838
Melissa Grandt, a Chicago-area travel advisor, helps Midwest families plan European trips that feel manageable, well-paced, and actually enjoyable instead of overwhelming.
CHICAGO - s4story -- Chicago Travel Advisor Helps Midwest Families Plan Europe Trips That Actually Work
Hoffman Estates, Illinois | March 18, 2026
After more than 20 years in the travel industry, Melissa Grandt has seen the same pattern over and over. Families spend months planning a big trip to Europe. Then it starts to fall apart by day three.
Through her business, Grandt Travel & Adventures, she's doing things differently.
"I work with a lot of Midwest families, and they're smart planners," Grandt says. "They'll research everything. But Europe is a different kind of trip. Trains, timing, logistics. It's not always as straightforward as it looks online."
Instead of packing trips with constant hotel changes and back-to-back activities, Grandt designs itineraries that slow things down. Many of her clients unpack once and use trains to explore multiple destinations without the stress of navigating every detail themselves.

"I'm not trying to cram more into a trip," she says. "I'm trying to make it feel better while you're in it."
In addition to European travel, Grandt also plans theme park vacations, including Walt Disney World, with the same focus on pacing, logistics, and reducing stress for families.
Her approach is hands-on and highly personalized, a contrast to the growing trend of do-it-yourself booking.
"Midwesterners tend to trust themselves first, and I respect that," Grandt says. "Most of my clients have already done a ton of research. What they really want is someone to help them make the right decisions and to know it's all going to work when they get there."
Grandt Travel & Adventures shares travel insights, planning strategies, and behind-the-scenes looks at real itineraries through its online platforms, helping families feel more confident about taking bigger, more meaningful trips.
