Three Generations of Innovation Take Albuquerque's Z-CoiL From Local Roots to National TV
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - s4story -- Z-CoiL Footwear, a family-owned company based in Albuquerque and known for its patented pain-relief shoes, will be featured on the season premiere of ABC's hit show Shark Tank on Wednesday, September 24, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Z-CoiL was founded by Andres' father, Alvaro Z. Gallegos, who invented the first spring-loaded orthopedic shoe in 1991. Now 94 years old and still living in Albuquerque, Alvaro's vision was to create footwear that reduces impact and helps people live pain-free. His mission lives on in Z-CoiL, which has sold more than a million pairs worldwide.
For more than 30 years, Z-CoiL has been helping customers find relief from conditions such as plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, arthritis, sciatica, and chronic back pain. The shoes feature a visible conical coil in the heel that reduces impact by up to 50%, a built-in orthotic for stability, and a rocker-bottom sole that promotes a natural stride. It's a game-changer that allows you to walk further, stand longer, and enjoy life on your feet without being slowed down by pain or fatigue, keeping you active longer.
