Charity hockey event brings the Las Vegas community together and raises $2,300 for Sin City FD Sports
LAS VEGAS - s4story -- The Delirious Hockey Club Charity Skate, co-sponsored by Delirious Comedy Club and Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino, brought together hockey players, firefighters, spectators, local businesses and friends for a day of fun and fundraising, raising $2,300 for Sin City FD Sports.
Held at the Las Vegas Ice Center, the sold-out recreational skate was followed by lunch and a charity raffle at Brooksy's Bar & Grill. Supporters who couldn't skate joined the festivities as spectators, purchased raffle tickets and helped contribute to the fundraiser.
Local businesses and community supporters donated an impressive collection of prizes, including a Silver Sevens staycation package, Las Vegas show tickets, dinners at Butcher & Thief and Carson Kitchen, GOLFTEC and Golf Oasis prizes, hockey jerseys and sticks, spa certificates, dermatology gift baskets, wine, gift certificates and more.

"It was a fantastic skate — fun, friendly and with just the right amount of competition," said Don Barnhart, founder of Delirious Comedy Club and co-founder of Delirious Hockey Club. "But the best part was seeing everyone come together. From the skaters and spectators to everyone who joined us for lunch, bought raffle tickets, donated prizes or supported us from afar, the generosity was incredible."
The event benefited Sin City FD Sports, which brings together members of the Southern Nevada fire service through athletics, camaraderie, physical fitness and mental wellness.
The fundraiser comes during a milestone year for Delirious Comedy Club, which is celebrating 10 years of bringing comedy to Las Vegas, more than 3,000 live performances and its first anniversary inside Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino.
Delirious has expanded beyond stand-up comedy to include House of Magic Las Vegas, Delirious TV, Delirious After Dark, special events and community outreach, while continuing its partnership with Silver Sevens.

"Las Vegas has supported us for 10 years, and we believe it's important to give something back," Barnhart added. "Sometimes that means putting on a comedy show, and sometimes it means putting on a pair of skates."
$2,300 raised. A great day on the ice. A lot of laughs. And an even better cause.
