Drew Vaughn, a Professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, who holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, and who (before selling his law firm) doubled his law firm's revenue for 4 straight years through digital marketing, founded Deviant Marketing to fix problems he saw in marketing law firms.
"There's a lot of hacks out there. And lawyers are easy marks for con artists. Lawyers were never taught how to market themselves or their firms. If you're a good lawyer, then one day you either launch your own firm or someone makes you partner and they basically just yell 'Surprise! Now you own a business!' and hope it works out." Drew Vaughn (Andrew G. Vaughn) founder of Deviant Marketing.
Mr. Vaughn continued "Lawyers have unique needs for their marketing. This isn't selling some small product on Amazon. And the marketing tactics used there won't work for law firms. Lawyers need to target the right clients, like people in a hospital for personal injury attorneys. Then they need to get their attention through an ad like this. Finally, they need to make it as easy as possible for that potential client to get in touch with the attorney. Lawyers need to be where the clients are: social media, messaging apps, etc."

"And most importantly, attorneys have to abide by their local ethical rules so that their license is always protected. As a licensed attorney myself, no one gets that more than I do."
