Dr. Richard Harding Completes Advanced Microwave Ablation Training in New Orleans
S For Story/10680647
Richard J. Harding, MD, FACS expands the Thyroid Nodule Treatment Center's minimally invasive capabilities with Microwave Ablation, bringing this option to Arizona through his expertise in Radiofrequency Ablation and Nano‑Pulse Ablation
PHOENIX - s4story -- Arizona Endocrine Surgery and the Thyroid Nodule Treatment Center announced today that founder Dr. Richard Harding has completed advanced training in Thyroid Microwave Ablation (MWA), further expanding the range of minimally invasive treatment options available to patients across Arizona.
The training was conducted in New Orleans under the direction of Dr. Emad Kandil, Professor and Ellis Hanna Chair in Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine. The program included observation of multiple live MWA procedures, hands‑on instruction, and detailed evaluation of the technology's clinical applications.
Dr. Harding, a former U.S. Navy Commander and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), is recognized as a pioneer of interventional thyroidology in the Southwest. He was the first surgeon in Arizona to perform thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) and Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy, offering patients scar‑free alternatives to traditional surgery. The addition of MWA strengthens his commitment to providing comprehensive, non‑surgical therapies for benign and autonomously functioning thyroid nodules.
