Dr. Stout Joins Tara's Chance Board of Directors
S For Story/10554991
FULLERTON, Calif. - s4story -- Dr. Dallas Stout has accepted an invitation and been elected to the Board of Directors for Tara's Chance. Tara's Chance is a special needs community benefit organization in Fullerton, whose mission is dedicated to promoting the physical, cognitive and social well-being of children with special needs. They accomplish this through individualized equine assisted activities and therapies. This is a good fit because for nearly 3 decades Dr. Stout has served on a variety of networks, coalitions, and Boards of Directors at the State, County and Community level for issues surrounding education, troubled youth, substance abuse, gang prevention, violence and related issues.
After the vote, Matt Howells, the Executive Director of Tara's Chance said, "we are honored to have Dr. Stout join the Tara's Chance Board of Directors. His many years of experience working in the community benefit organization field brings so much expertise to our small organization and his love of our mission through being a parent makes this a perfect fit."
"I first heard about Tara's Chance years ago when my daughter rode there," said Dr. Stout, "in May of this year I was honored to be named a 2022 Vision Initiative Awardee by the Picerne Foundation. I gave the $10,000 from the award to Tara's Chance so they could buy a larger horse to significantly reduce their wait list for services and more importantly to ensure kids in need no longer have to stop receiving services because their weight exceeds 150 pounds. When Matt later asked me to join their Board, it seemed like the logical next step for me"
