FARINA: A Cinematic Crime Noir Graphic Novel Launches on Kickstarter with Exclusive Rewards
S For Story/10677504
Follow Vietnam vet Johnny Conti as he navigates 1980s Newark's criminal underworld in this dark, character-driven indie comic series. Backers can claim digital, signed, and exclusive edition rewards.
IRVING, Texas - s4story -- [Irving, TX]
From the smoke-filled streets of 1980s Newark emerges FARINA, a bold new graphic novel that blends psychological drama with crime noir storytelling. Created by first-time writer Alan Salgado and brought to life by artist Thodoris Laourdekis, FARINA follows Johnny Conti, a haunted Vietnam veteran who just wants to escape his family's violent legacy, but fate has other plans.
When a friend's death pulls Johnny back into the criminal underworld, he finds himself entangled with a shadowy government agency, super-powered targets, and the ghosts of his own past.
"This isn't a superhero story," says Salgado. "It's about broken people in a broken world, trying to find redemption where there's none to be found. FARINA is about how far someone can go before they lose themselves completely."

The 24-page first issue is already 100% complete, and the creators are preparing to launch their Kickstarter campaign to fund the first print run and begin the series. The project promises a cinematic reading experience inspired by the likes of Taxi Driver, The Sopranos, and Goodfellas, a story that favors realism, grit, and psychological tension over spectacle.
Fans who join the Kickstarter prelaunch page will receive exclusive early-bird rewards and updates as the campaign goes live.
