Film Production Company Breaks Opens Industry Doors
S For Story/10599510
Film/TV production services company, Dominion Films, vows to jumpstart careers and make the industry more accessible to all through its affordable, real-world, upcoming training for work behind the scenes and in front of the camera.
HOUSTON - s4story -- Not your ordinary production company, Dominion Films, which differentiates itself by creating "productions with heart," and offering "training that cares," announces door-opening virtual classes, beginning September 20, 2023 that, according to CEO, Producer and Trainer, Abiiba Howell, will help usher in new paths to entry." The company has trained future production assistants, coordinators, movie extras and others for work in film and television since the 90's. "Technology, industry growth and calls for greater diversity, equity and inclusion over the past several years, have boosted the need for more well-trained crew across departments," Howell says.

In its 26th year, Dominion Films provides producer services for clients and creates independent in-house projects. The training classes focus on raising industry standards while providing opportunities for entry to anyone 16 years and older. The classes are updated often to incorporate new technology, practices and protocols and are based on actual real-world standards and workflows for feature films, music videos, reality and competition shows, etc.
Class attendees gain the opportunity for long-term success with, or without, film school. "In fact, many of our trainees are film school graduates who have film school technical instruction, but need the training between film school and the real world," Howell says.
During the pandemic lockdown in 2020, Dominion Films developed a COVID Compliance Officer certification course, with input from OSHA, resulting in safer production operations. Topics include: working relationships, ethics, paperwork, getting work and more. Howell looks forward to attendees joining the hundreds of past participants.
