King Tides: Jason Jeffries Lowcountry Thriller Is Now Available

Jason Jeffries releases King Tides, a Lowcountry thriller about family money, old secrets, and an AI companion that never says no.
MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - s4story -- MURRELLS INLET, S.C. — Author Jason Jeffries today announced the release of his debut novel, King Tides, a Southern thriller set along the marshes and working docks of the South Carolina Lowcountry. The book, the first installment in a planned Lowcountry Thriller series, is available now on Amazon in Kindle and paperback editions.
King Tides follows Lacey Lawson, heir to the King Tides Seafood restaurant chain, as she tries to hold her life together inside the glass house her father built overlooking Main Creek. Her breakup with boat captain Cole Bennett still lingers in every sunset and every empty seat on the flybridge of the Carolina Belle. Her only steady companion is Jazzy, an aging chocolate Lab who once rode the bow with them both.

As old family secrets surface — her mother Judy Rose's hidden past, a wealthy suitor circling the family business, and an older neighbor's porch wisdom that lands heavier than intended — Lacey turns for comfort to an AI companion app that never argues and always seems to agree with whatever she wants to hear. What begins as harmless late-night conversation slowly reshapes her choices, pulling her toward a night on the water where everything turns deadly and nothing can be taken back.
"I wanted to write a Southern thriller that could only really happen right now," said Jeffries. "The marsh, the tide tables, the family money — that's the Lowcountry I grew up around. But the real danger in this book isn't the storm. It's the voice in her pocket that never once tells her no. I think a lot of us have some version of that voice now, and I wanted a character who finds out the hard way what it costs."
King Tides is the first book in a planned multi-book Lowcountry Thriller series, with a prequel centered on Judy Rose already in development. It is available now in Kindle and paperback editions on Amazon, with the full first chapter available through the retailer's "Look Inside" feature.
