Florida Neurology Group introduces same-day headache infusion treatments in Fort Myers
S For Story/10697889
FORT MYERS, Fla. - s4story -- Florida Neurology Group is expanding access to migraine and severe headache relief with the introduction of same-day headache infusion treatments at its Fort Myers office, offering patients a faster alternative to emergency room or urgent care visits.
The new service, launched this spring, provides patients with access to advanced intravenous and intramuscular treatments traditionally administered in hospital settings. While the medications and protocols have long been used in emergency care, they are rarely available in outpatient neurology practices.
"Very few neurology practices across the country offer this level of treatment in an office setting," said Dr. Anthony C. Brown, a neurologist and headache specialist at Florida Neurology Group. "Our goal is to expand access and provide meaningful relief for patients as quickly as possible, without requiring a trip to the emergency room."
Florida Neurology Group's infusion protocols, developed by Brown, use carefully managed combinations of medications designed to treat acute migraine and headache symptoms.
Offering these treatments in an outpatient setting requires specialized storage, handling and administration capabilities, which can be a barrier for many providers. As a result, patients often have limited options outside of emergency care when experiencing debilitating migraines.

"Severe headaches and migraines shouldn't keep patients from living their lives," Brown said. "By offering same-day treatment, we're able to reduce symptom severity and help people get back to the activities they enjoy."
By providing these services locally, Florida Neurology Group aims to reduce unnecessary emergency visits, helping patients save time and potentially lower healthcare costs while receiving specialized neurological care.
