Forced Retirement Inspires New Career As Author

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - s4story -- — Terra3 Communications has acquired the publishing rights to the novel The First Wolf Pack: A Dog's Fable written by Chicago commercial real estate leader turned author, J. Daniel Reed. The book was recently published on November 15, 2021,
For almost four decades, J. Daniel Reed (Joe) specialized in transactions and strategy for a few major corporations with well-known names. With an estimated transaction volume over $1 Billion and experience all over the country, Joe has dealt with just about every kind of professional and most kinds of con men. When the pandemic of 2020 coincided with a company takeover and its layoffs, Joe decided it was time to write; to pursue a dream.
"After a year-plus of no longer working full time, I had time to think about an unbounded future—not a simple topic," said Reed. Rather than focus on the negatives of trying to find job opportunities in a marketplace looking for youth, Reed decided to welcome retirement by starting a second career as an author. With this mindset, he pursued his love of creative writing. In The First Wolf Pack: A Dog's Fable, he combines his imagination and writing talents with his love of dogs, wolves, and history.

The newly-released novel celebrates and teaches about the nobility, genius, and spiritual dignity of the wolf in the form of a fable, written for adult and advanced teen comprehension. During prehistoric times anthropomorphized wolves invent the wolf pack which leads them to develop twelve immutable virtues. Eventually, the fable transitions to the historical fiction genre as it focuses on the development of human civilization, with the wolves teaching these virtues—especially gratitude and tolerance—to humankind. "One of the reasons I wrote the book is because it contains messages the world needs to hear and embrace right now in these turbulent times," explained Reed.
