CALGARY, Alberta - s4story -- A new framework for a Generative AI Aerospace Copilot will be officially presented on September 16, 2026, at the Connecting Communities Foundation's Integrated Transportation and Economic Corridors Summit in Calgary, Alberta.

Developed by Integrated.Travel and aerospace researcher Rahul Kistaiahgari, the interim study outlines a hybrid engineering architecture designed to safely connect natural language orchestration with high-fidelity simulation tools, digital twins, and specialized engineering agents for aircraft, airports, and satellite communication systems.

The research synthesizes foundations from five leading studies to establish how artificial intelligence can safely augment, rather than replace, governing physics and traditional solvers like Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The proposed Copilot operates as an orchestration layer that interprets complex engineering intent, enforces structured inputs, tracks domain-model boundaries, and ensures reproducible outputs.

Key Architectural Concepts:
  • Multi-Agent Automation: Specialized agents handle preprocessing, simulation execution, and post-processing to ensure auditable, containerized, and deterministic engineering workflows.
  • Physics-Aware Surrogates: Deep learning and mesh graph neural networks accelerate repeated design evaluations within controlled domains, while automatically routing complex physics or novel geometries to traditional high-fidelity solvers.
  • Traceable Knowledge Retrieval: Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) integrates benchmark cases, operational data, and solver documentation to ground engineering decisions in validated domain expertise.
  • Strict Human Oversight: The framework preserves human review and iterative error-driven correction loops for high-consequence, mission-critical aerospace decisions.

The framework will be unveiled at the Carriage House Hotel & Conference Centre in Calgary as part of the summit's focus on sustainable, multi-modal economic corridors and advanced transportation planning.
