BUFORD, Ga. - s4story -- To kick off the holidays, Lanier Islands Resort has called in a favor with Santa Claus. On Saturday, November 30, the Jolly Old Elf will trade his sleigh and reindeer for a fire truck that will wind through the streets of the Georgia lakeside resort before landing at Game Changer at the heart of the Islands. The holiday season celebration will include fun and games at the resort's ultimate year-round escape paired with festive food, cheerful elves, holiday drinks, Santa photo ops, a tree lighting, and more as the sounds of carols fill the air. The party will last from 5-9 p.m., with a selection of holiday-themed accommodation packages for attendees who want to turn their night with Santa into a seasonal staycation. Guests who bring three or more cans of non-perishable food to benefit the Feeding Hearts Food Bank will enjoy free resort gate access. Lanier Islands will also kick off the "Season of Giving" by extending free gate access to first responders and veterans throughout November and December with valid IDs.

"We are so excited to be a part of our guests' holiday season again this year," said Lanier Islands President Matthew Bowling. "Santa's Magical Arrival will be on the heels of our annual Thanksgiving Buffet at Legacy Lodge – so the holiday spirit will be alive and well throughout the resort. With a large open central space and loads of family-friendly activities for our guests to enjoy, Game Changer is the ideal location for our holiday season kickoff celebration. This is a brand-new tradition for us that we look forward to continuing for years to come. Those attendees who opt to stay the night at Lanier Islands can spend the following day at Margaritaville's License to Chill Snow Island. We strive to make it easy for our guests to create memories that will last a lifetime and are honored to hold a special place in the hearts of so many families who have shared the holidays with us for generations."
