Local author, Hamburg, PA resident, wins Top Ten in Global Award

READING, Pa. - s4story -- Handwriting Brain-Body DisConnect, written by Hamburg, PA resident, Cheri L. Dotterer, dysgraphia consultant, and occupational therapist, won a Top Ten Finalist for a 2019 Author Academy Award, an honor bestowed for literary merit and publishing excellence in the writing and publishing industry. It is presented annually by Author Academy Elite, a premium service provider for authors, at the Author Academy Awards Ceremony.

Entries were reviewed and evaluated on popular vote, social contribution, and overall presentation (cover, content, flow, and originality) by the Academy's voting membership comprised of best-selling authors, literary agents, and industry leaders.

The Top Ten Finalists in each category were invited to present their book synopsis at an Author Academy Awards Red Carpet Session on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, in Columbus, Ohio. Winners were announced later that evening at the Author Academy Awards Ceremony.

Dotterer's book provides strategies for teachers, occupational therapists, and parents a roadmap to understanding handwriting problems, also known as dysgraphia. The book has sold nearly 500 copies since its release in March 2019. and has remained in the top 100 books in the Learning Disabilities category on Amazon since March.
