Harry Chapin Food Bank flips the script to support United Way
S For Story/10682485
FORT MYERS, Fla. - s4story -- Harry Chapin Food Bank, which has been generously supported by United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades for many years, turned the tables by hosting a series of grass-roots fundraising events to support United Way programs and services.
Employees and volunteers at Harry Chapin Food Bank, the region's largest hunger-relief organization and a longtime partner agency of United Way, participated in a series of fun, team-bonding events to raise money for United Way. Fundraising opportunities included drenching their bosses in a dunk tank, indulging in ice cream and guessing how many pieces of candy were in a jar. Employees also participated in a Halloween costume contest, with awards given for funniest, scariest, best food-inspired and best DIY costumes.
All told, the initiatives helped raise over $7,000 to support United Way, which works with 92 partner agencies across Southwest Florida, including Harry Chapin Food Bank. United Way assists the local human service network that provides essential services – from food security and healthcare to education and crisis response.
