Hillside School & Center for Dyslexia to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Dyslexia Center
S For Story/10669124
Boulder County's first Center for Dyslexia will expand resources for students, families, and educators
BOULDER, Colo. - s4story -- Boulder, CO — Hillside School & Center for Dyslexia is proud to announce the opening of its new Dyslexia Center, the first of its kind in Boulder County. The community is invited to celebrate this milestone at a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Sunday, August 24 at 4:30 PM at 6620 Gunpark Drive, Boulder, CO. The event will be followed by tours of the new facility and a community potluck picnic.
Founded in 2005, Hillside has become a regional leader in literacy intervention, empowering students with dyslexia the tools and confidence to thrive. The launch of the new Dyslexia Center marks an important milestone, expanding Hillside's reach to better serve families, educators, and the broader community.
"This new space is about more than a building," said Jill Michaud, Head of School. "It represents a deeper commitment to the students and families we serve, and to strengthening the community around every learner with dyslexia."

The August 24 celebration will begin with the official ribbon cutting, followed by tours of the new facility. Guests are then invited to join current Hillside families for a potluck picnic—a long-standing tradition that marks the start of the school year and, this year, an opportunity for the broader community to celebrate together.
In addition to Hillside's core literacy instruction, the new Center will also house auxiliary services that strengthen support for students and families: learning evaluations, executive function coaching through Untapped Learning, BVKid support group meetings, Hilltopics community events, and professional development for educators.
The event is open to alumni families, current families, local professionals, and community members.
About Hillside School & Center for Dyslexia
Hillside opened in 2005 with a focused mission: to provide students with dyslexia the expert, individualized instruction they deserve. From the start, its impact in the classroom was clear. But as Hillside partnered with students and families, a broader need came into focus—one that extended beyond intervention. Real, lasting progress happens when everyone around the student is supported—when families are informed, educators are empowered, and transitions are guided with care.
