Home Service Contractors Missing Out on Thousands of Monthly Searches, New Analysis Show
S For Story/10682132
Ahrefs data reveals over 360,000 monthly Google searches for remodeling and flooring services across the U.S., yet most contractors remain invisible online
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - s4story -- A new analysis of search engine data reveals that home service contractors across the United States are missing out on hundreds of thousands of potential customer searches every month due to poor online visibility.
The study, conducted by BlueList Marketing using data from Ahrefs, examined search volume for flooring, kitchen remodeling, and bathroom remodeling services.
Key findings include:
- Over 110,000 people search for "bathroom remodel" each month in the U.S.
- "Near me" searches for home services exceed 100,000 monthly
- Kitchen remodel searches total nearly 40,000 monthly
- Flooring-related searches exceed 60,000 monthly
"These numbers represent real homeowners with real projects, actively looking for someone to hire," said Abdul Yazidi, founder of BlueList Marketing. "The contractors who show up in these searches are booking jobs. Everyone else is losing business they don't even know exists."

The analysis found that "near me" searches represent a massive opportunity for local contractors. Searches like "bathroom remodelers near me" (12,000/month) and "flooring contractors near me" (9,100/month) signal homeowners ready to hire.
Yet most contractors fail to appear in Google's Local Map Pack due to incomplete Google Business Profiles, lack of reviews, and unoptimized websites.
Cost-related queries also indicate strong commercial intent. "Bathroom remodel cost" receives 11,000 monthly searches, while "kitchen remodel cost" gets 8,900.
"When someone searches for remodeling costs, they're planning a project," Yazidi added. "If a contractor's website doesn't appear, that customer goes to a competitor."
