LOS ANGELES - s4story -- If somebody asks whether KayeDinero is an artificial-intelligence artist, she already has an answer.

"C'mon Nah."

It also happens to be the title of one of her songs.

The timing is fitting as Spotify begins rolling out new AI Persona labels designed to help listeners identify artist profiles built around AI-generated photorealistic identities. Spotify says the label concerns the identity being presented to listeners, rather than automatically declaring that the music itself was generated by AI.

For KayeDinero, the distinction matters.

"I write Python. I build technology. I understand why AI fascinates people," KayeDinero said. "But there is an actual person behind this music. C'mon nah."

The Internet Sees Technology. The Music Comes From a Life.

KayeDinero's public identity can look unusually technical for an artist.

Her work includes software development, financial analytics, TradingView tools, data pipelines, drone cinematography and music production.

Recent projects including Human Error, Kulture Metrics and "Pipeline Developer" have only strengthened that connection between technology and her creative work.

But KayeDinero says listeners should not confuse a technologically literate artist with an artificial one.

"My technology background is part of who I am," she said. "It isn't a substitute for who I am."

Much of KayeDinero's recent music comes directly from experiences around Western North Carolina.

There is "Appalachia." "French Broad." "Haywood Road." "Barksdale." "Nine Mile." "Glizzy Glock."

Other records reach backward toward Detroit, including "Cass Tech."

Those titles come from actual roads, places, meals, nights out, relationships, memories and transitions.

"AI didn't move from Detroit to Asheville," KayeDinero said. "It didn't see these mountains, go out downtown, eat the food or live these stories. I did."

Human Error Wasn't an Accident

Even the title of her album Human Error now lands differently in the middle of the AI-music conversation.

KayeDinero says imperfection is often where personality enters creative work.

"The goal isn't to prove humans are better computers," she said. "I don't want to be a computer. I want technology to help me create things that still sound like me."

And if algorithms still need a category?

Her answer remains simple.

"C'mon Nah."
