LA Film/TV Star, D. Elliot Woods, Launches Riveting Debut Novel with a Call for Change
S For Story/10558504
LOS ANGELES - s4story -- Writer, Producer and Actor, D. Elliot Woods, has issued a clarion call for societal change within the pages of his captivating debut novel, Rise of the Unicorn.
Rise of the Unicorn is a suspense/ mystery thriller that tells the gripping story of an embattled LAPD Negotiator, Augustus 'Gus' Martin tasked with the responsibility of negotiating with The Unicorn- bank robbers who may in fact be a terrorist group. The problem, however, is that these bank robbers seem bent on committing the messiest daylight robbery and hostage crisis of all time, and they will only negotiate with Gus as the world watches hostages die, one-by-one. With the lives of 30 hostages hanging in the balance, Gus and the newly appointed LAPD Commissioner Evelyn Kennedy- a Black woman, are forced to trust each other to win a chess match to succeed against the most formidable criminal mind either of them have ever faced.
With an acting career spanning 25 years, Woods knows a thing or two about compelling plots and surprising twists. He is well known for his human and alien portrayals in several Star Trek projects. He has also appeared in TV shows such as Loot, NCIS, HBOs Ballers, Marvel's Agents of Shield and more. Although Rise of the Unicorn is the Actor's debut novel, the clarity and appeal of the story gives no indication to his experience.

When asked about the motivation for writing the book, The proud father of three explained: "I love all types of creativity. For me, acting is giving life to words but writing is the creation of life and all of its possibilities. I hope my children find comfort and information in my written thoughts, one day when I am not on this side of life."
Far from the average suspense thriller, Rise of the Unicorn features a unique plot, shrouded in a powerful message that cuts through every class of society. Readers have hailed the book as 'thought-provoking, gritty and suspenseful. One reader, Jennell, wrote: "There was nothing predictable in his book. It was a suspenseful read, and I enjoyed it. I read the entire thing in less than four hours. I couldn't stay away."
Rise of the Unicorn is available in eBook and paperback formats and is available on multiple online bookstores. For further information or to get a copy of the book, visit: https://books2read.com/RiseOfTheUnicorn. Learn more about D. Elliot Woods at: flyfreeent.com.
