LRP's National Institute to Highlight More Than 40 Sessions in Six Tailored Learning Tracks

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - s4story -- LRP's National Institute on Legal Issues of Educating Individuals with Disabilities®, the leading source for compliance strategies, best practices and case updates impacting special education programs, announced today the full agenda for the 2024 event taking place May 5 - 8 at the Savannah Convention Center in Savannah, Ga.

  • A Year in Review 2023 (and a Look Ahead): Attorney Jan Tomsky, with Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost, will present a fast-paced litigation review, sharing her expert insights on significant special education cases from 2023 as well as her predictions for litigation trends and regulatory changes to come.
  • How I Met Your Mother ... Parental Rights and Roles in Special Education: Attorney Karen Haase, with KSB School Law, will draw from her 25 years of experience in special education to provide insights as to what effective parental participation and advocacy under the IDEA and Section 504 does, and doesn't, look like.
  • Updates From OSEP ...: Director of the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs, Valerie Williams, who oversees administration of the IDEA, will get attendees up to date with OSEP's latest initiatives and areas of emphasis.
