S For Story/10697677
Celebrating 50 Years of Art, Inspiration, and Entrepreneurship
ST. LOUIS - s4story -- Beloved illustrator, author, and entrepreneur Mary Engelbreit has officially launched a Kickstarter campaign for A Chair of Bowlies: The Mary Engelbreit Story, the first documentary to chronicle her remarkable career and lasting cultural impact.
For nearly five decades, Engelbreit's whimsical artwork has become part of everyday life for millions of people. From greeting cards and calendars to children's books, home décor, fabric collections, and bestselling publications, her illustrations have inspired generations with messages of joy, kindness, resilience, and home.
Now, filmmaker Scott Farber and the Generations Broadcasting team are bringing Mary's story to the screen.
The documentary will explore Engelbreit's journey from a young artist in St. Louis to one of the most recognized illustrators in America. Along the way, it highlights the realities of building an independent creative business, navigating changing industries, and remaining true to an artistic vision through decades of success and challenge.

Supporters of the Kickstarter campaign can choose from a variety of exclusive rewards, including limited-edition signed posters, Kickstarter-exclusive merchandise, digital downloads, premiere screening tickets in St. Louis, and recognition in the documentary credits.
Funds raised through Kickstarter will support production expenses, including travel, filming, editing, music licensing, archival materials, and post-production.
The filmmakers have also invited fans to become part of the story by sharing memories, photographs, and personal experiences about how Mary Engelbreit's artwork has impacted their lives. Several interviews have already been completed, with more planned as funding allows.
