Synthesis Tutor is a voice-guided AI math tutor for ages 5 to 11. The child talks through a problem out loud, and the tutor responds and adjusts. It costs $29 a month or $119 a year, and one plan covers up to seven children. It's the best pick for young kids. It stops at 5th grade.

3. Khan Academy with Khanmigo

Khan Academy covers Pre-K through AP in every subject for free, and its Khanmigo AI tutor costs $4 a month. No app on this list gives families more for less money. Parents should expect to guide younger kids through it.

4. IXL

IXL gives kids a very large bank of practice problems sorted by grade and skill. It's strong for daily practice. It teaches less than it tests.

5. Beast Academy

Beast Academy, from Art of Problem Solving, is built for kids who are ahead and want harder problems. It uses comic-book lessons and puzzles.
