SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - s4story -- Ahead of a September, community and corporate wellness initiative, Scottsdale Dental Arts is introducing its founder, Dr. Jason McCargar, DMD, to the Scottsdale community he's practiced in — sharing his background and answering a few questions his practice hears often.

Q: Tell us about your background.
"I earned my DMD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, and I'm licensed to practice in Arizona, Pennsylvania and Texas," Dr. McCargar said. "I'm also a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Arizona Dental Association, Central Arizona Dental Society and FDI World Dental Federation. That background shapes how I approach every patient — comprehensive care first, cosmetic work second."

Q: Why is Scottsdale Dental Arts getting involved in community and corporate wellness events?
"It's about access," he explained. "Most people don't think about dental health until something hurts. Showing up where people already are — a workplace, a community event — lets us answer questions before it gets to that point."

Q: What does corporate wellness look like for a dental practice?
"Usually it's simple habits — brushing, flossing, hydration, diet — and helping people know when something needs a professional look versus a routine checkup. Oral health belongs in that conversation alongside physical and mental wellness."

Q: Teeth whitening comes up a lot. What should people know?
"It's our most-asked-about topic," Dr. McCargar said. "We offer supervised in-office whitening, done in about 60 minutes, and take-home kits using Opalescence, with custom trays over a couple of weeks. But whitening is cosmetic — it works best after we've reviewed someone's full oral health first."
