Metrus Client Recognized for Exemplary HR Practices Linked to Business Results
S For Story/10274195
SOMERVILLE, N.J. - Oct. 31, 2016 - s4story -- Metrus Group, Inc. is pleased to share that its client, Jack in the Box Inc., has been recognized for best practices in evidence-based HR strategies as the recipient of the 2016 Human Resource Management Impact Award. Given by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), along with their foundations, the award promotes HR practices and initiatives that have been measured and determined successful through evidence-based, data-driven analyses.
Jack in the Box (JIB), a national quick-serve restaurant, was chosen as this year's winner for its ability to show how people investments and practices link to business results, including restaurant guest satisfaction, revenue and profit. Mark Blankenship, Chief People, Culture and Corporate Strategy Officer at JIB, said, "This research demonstrates that people do matter to our bottom line. We enlisted Metrus Group's ACE framework (Alignment, Capabilities, and Engagement) to assess and track how well employees at all levels were aligned with the business strategy and customer value proposition, whether employees had the proper tools, training and information to facilitate their performance, and how engaged and committed employees were to the business, resulting in our ability to explain and drive better business performance."

In an environment in which so many other factors are constant such as hiring, pay, and training, the ability of restaurant managers to align people with the brand, give them the right capabilities to succeed, and engage their passions was strongly connected to how well their restaurants performed in the market. High ACE restaurants had higher employee productivity, far less employee turnover, fewer guest complaints, and were generating 30% more profit.
"Having the right diagnostic information was crucial in helping the company identify the true root causes of low ACE scores, allowing leadership to focus improvements on the critical people issues that drive bottom line results," said Jerry Seibert, Principal and Vice President at Metrus Group.
The award was formally presented during SIOP's Leading Edge Consortium held on October 21 in Atlanta, GA. Jack in the Box will also be honored at the SHRM Volunteer Leaders' Summit on November 17 in Washington, DC.
Bill Schiemann, Principal and CEO of Metrus Group, congratulates JIB on their accomplishments, saying, "It has been an honor to work with Lenny Comma (CEO at JIB), Mark Blankenship and the JIB leadership team, who, through this process, have displayed a great commitment to their employees and the value they bring to the success of the business."
